When Preeti moved from a Marathi-medium school to a semi-English-medium school in Class 8, she remembers feeling uncertain about whether she would understand her lessons, communicate in English and keep up with her classmates. Even her parents were initially unsure whether the move to a semi-English environment would be the right decision.
“I did not want to simply pass; I wanted to prove to myself that I could achieve good marks despite the challenges.”
As an introvert, even simple things such as starting a conversation, asking questions or expressing her opinion could feel difficult.
