Dr. Khan Ishrat Fatima

Abhyudaya’s first MBBS doctor

I am Sitara Dr Khan Ishrat Fatima. I completed my schooling at Al-Ittehad Urdu High School and Junior College. I became a Sitara in 6th grade after clearing the entrance exam. Initially, I found it difficult to understand the lectures, but gradually, with the help and guidance of my mentors, things became much easier. They supported me not only in academics but also encouraged me to improve my communication skills and develop my personality.

I lost my father when I was in the 5th grade. After that, my mother became my greatest strength. She taught me the true value of education and worked tirelessly to support our family.

Despite many hardships, she ensured that all her children continued their education. Because of her sacrifices and dedication, my sister is now a radiology technician, my brother works in a bank, and my younger brother completed Hifz and is currently pursuing Islamic studies. My mother’s strength, patience, and unwavering belief in us gave me the courage and motivation to continue my studies and work hard toward my dreams.

After completing the 10th standard, I joined Shaheen Institute, Bidar, for NEET preparation. In my first attempt, I secured 247 marks. I did not get discouraged. Instead, I treated it as a stepping stone and continued working with determination and faith. In my second attempt, I secured 519 marks in NEET and obtained admission to JIIU’s Indian Institute of Medical Science and Research, Jalna.

I would especially like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Abhyudaya’s Director, Arati Ma’am, for supporting me throughout my MBBS journey – academically, financially, and personally.

I would like to sincerely thank the previous Abhyudaya Directors, Rukaiya Joshi Ma’am and Deepa Ma’am, for helping me become a true Sitara. My selection would not have been possible without their guidance and support.

Special thanks to Ajay Dada, who has been my mentor since the day I joined Abhyudaya and has always stood by me, providing constant guidance, motivation, and encouragement. I am equally grateful to Neelima Ma’am, Shehnaz Didi, Alka Tai, and the entire Abhyudaya team for their continuous support, kindness, and encouragement in this journey.

I have now completed my MBBS and will begin my internship at the same college. Alongside my internship, I will also prepare for NEET-PG. My dream is to specialise in General Medicine or Pediatrics and serve society with dedication and compassion.

This achievement would not have been possible without all your blessings, guidance, and unconditional support. I will always remain thankful to each one of you.
